Since founding the gallery in London in 2011, we have been dedicated to presenting out-of-the-ordinary collectible design, art, and craft. Our focus lies especially on avant-garde talent from Mexico and Latin America, both established and emerging. We are deeply committed to preserving traditions, histories, and craftsmanship while exploring material innovation, social design, and sustainable practices.

Our journey began with the critically acclaimed exhibition Enlightened Waste at the 2011 London Design Festival. Since then, we have staged exhibitions in London, Austria, Milan, and Mexico City, bringing exceptional artists and designers into the spotlight and creating cultural dialogue across continents.

HOW WE WORK

Operating between Europe and Mexico, we embrace a nomadic model that allows us to explore and connect across cultures. We are a gallery for design, craft and material culture, acting as curators, creative agents, talent scouts, and promoters. Our passion lies in discovering uncharted territory, championing overlooked or emerging talents, and bringing exceptional creative voices into the spotlight.

Founder’s Note

Alongside running Marion Friedmann Gallery, I have pursued curatorial, research, and academic projects with leading institutions and organizations, including the Victoria and Albert Museum (2008–2017), the British Council, private galleries, and universities. Over the past 20 years, I have undertaken extensive travels across Mexico, deepening my engagement with the country’s rich design, craft, and cultural traditions. These experiences have shaped the way I approach the gallery: as a space where design, craft, and art are explored through curiosity, experimentation, and a dialogue between cultures. I have also shared this vision through lectures on design, curation, and Latin American design at Kingston University, the Design Museum London, Chelsea College of Art and Design, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, as well as at Centro, Anáhuac University, and ADM Institute in Mexico City.
