CONCRETE CUPBOARD COLLECTION by Stefan Buxbaum and WALL HANGINGS | TAPESTRIES by Noémi Kiss
We are proud to have presented the first show by Buxbaum and his latest concrete furniture formations. He is an expert in all things casting as well as concrete. He has been working with the material concrete for the past 25 years and achieves stunning configurations with this exciting material through his specially developed techniques. The sensible and beautiful world of nature in the form of plants - as for example the Welshriesling vine-plant - gets united with the hard concrete and petrified for eternity in the surface of the stone.
Nómi Kiss shows her rug transformations. The artist uses old, abandoned orienntal rugs and overpaints them, or cuts them to transfer them into wall hangings or wall art. Optical illusions, surprise and humour are playing a role here. The rug as raw material gets a new purpose and the rich story of the rug continues. Let it be a moth hole or the wear and tear of a rug, these attributes are the rare ‘design of the time’ and this is exactly what Noemi Kiss harnesses for her witty and thoughtful pieces.
